TEDxTUA is the official TEDx of Tehran University of Art. It was founded on January 2015 by Shahin Javadi Nezhad and Khashayar Rahimi. Two edition of the event has been held so far.
What is TED ?
TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. It believes passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. TED today shares ideas from a broad spectrum in more than 100 languages. At a TED conference, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less.
TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.
What is TEDx ?
The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. At TEDx events, local speakers spark deep conversation and connections at the local level. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. TEDx events unleash fresh ideas from local communities. Close to 50,000 talks have been given at 10,000 events since the program launched in 2009.
